An industrial machine vision camera (either CCD or CMOS)
consists of a light sensitive sensor (CDD array) that
converts incoming photons into electrical signals. These
than pass through an A/D converter, (analogue to digital
converter) before being transfered out of the camera.
CCDs (Charge Coupled Devices) can be either frame transfer
devices, interline transfer devices or full frame devices.
Standard sensor resolutions include: VGA = 640x480, SVGA=
800x600, XGA = 1024x768 and SXGA = 1280x1024
