LED
lighting is an expanding area within illumination, and with
the advent of high intensity LED's it is rapidly outclassing
other techniques. LED illumination benefits from long unit life,
at low to moderate cost. LEDs produce what is termed 'narrow
band illumination. There are many different kinds of lighting
geometry that can reveal surface defects, surface scratches,
and other surface features. Uses might include: web inspection
illumination, surface inspection, scratch detection, edge detection,
backlight or silhouette inspection among others. Different colours
are often available including IR (Infra-Red Illumination) and
UV (Ultra Violet Illumination).
The Cobra high powered linelight uses a patented Chip-On-Board technique to create an essentially unbroken line of high powered and very even illumination, particularly suited to linescan illumination applications.

Illumination
Non-diffuse,
direct, LED ring light Illumination that can be used in
both bright field and dark field situations and for non-reflective

Co-Axial Illumination
Systems
On-axis
or co-axial illumination system (sometimes termed CIS
or DOAL - see below) for reflective surface inspection

Protected top aperture uses optical glass to prevent dust
and particle entry.

The
convergent beam illumination system uses high intensity
LED's with a cylindrical lens to produce highly focused
LED illumination. Applications include linescan and web
inspection and some profiling situations.

Diffuse Low Angle
Illumination
Low
angle illumination using a diffusion plate system. These
lights provide a very even illumination in a standard
ringlight configuration, or in a square arangement when inspecting objects such as
PCBs and other rectangular components.

side of a cylindrical object simultaneously

The
flat ringlight illumination uses a flexible board mounting

Advanced Collimated
