The
CMR is a specialist illuminator designed for use in conjunction
with microscopes. Conventional microscope illumination systems
are mounted below the lens surface, but the bottom of the CMR
is flush with the lower surface of the lens, with the illumination
unit encircling it. This provides the maximum working distance
and eliminates any loss in space. This can save up to 25mm working
area, contributing to greater working efficiency.
The CMR is compatible with various makes
of stereoscopic microscopes including: Olympus SZ, SD
and SF series, and the Nikon SMZ600 series. Other makes
of microscope/lens arrangements can be catered for on
request.
Shown left is the CMR 'BUH' or Bottom Up Holder, illumination
system in place on a microscope, showing the space saving
arrangement.
The LMR/MAC Macro lens and Illumination System
The
LMR Illuminator
The
LMR/MAC system is a hi magnification macro lens, offering 7x
- 13x magnification. In addition to the lens, there is an illumination
unit called an LMR, that can be fitted over the macro lens to
provide high intensity illumination where it is needed. With
the LMR attached to the lens, extremely bright sharp images
can be produced, even at high magnification. The 29mm outer
diameter allows the unit to be gripped firmly, to minimize the
effects of vibration so that the unit can also be used for FA
applications.

MAC Macro Lens
The diagram below
shows how the LMR illuminator connects to the MAC macro
lens.
This
diagram shows the general arrangement of the MAC lens
as attached to a c-mount camera showing the magnification
adjustment.
