Lenses for machine vision and scientific applications come in
a number of varieties and focal lengths, C-Mount, CS-Mount,
F-Mount, V-Mount, 42mm 72mm and Remote Head. F-Mount, 42mm and
72mm lenses are often termed 'large format' and are usually
used on linescan cameras. Inexpensive lenses are often adequate
for applications where the image quality is non-critical. If
high quality images are essential, better lensing will be needed,
particularly for industrial and scientific applications where
measurements or geometric matching is to be carried out.
